Welcome to
LIU MEN HOTEL
Long before World War II, six-shop houses stood proudly along Jalan Tokong, each one home to a family. Following the end of Japanese Occupation in 1945, these families moved on, and these shop – houses transformed into a single home for a large family.
Fast forward to the 21st century, and the pre-war structure has been fully revitalised. Liu Men now stand as a beautifully restored heritage landmark, blending colonial and traditional elements with the influence of art deco and Peranakan designs – highlighted by the iconic spiral staircase. It is a celebration of cultural harmony, where East and West blends, and where cultures, colours and shapes all complementing each other symbolising good fortune.
At Liu Men, we welcome you with open arms. Our guests will be treated like family, with warmth and honor. We invite you to make our home your home-away-from-home.
MESSAGES
from our host
When we travel, I seek to find a haven that offers both comfort and inspiration – a place where we can relax, rejuvenate, and still feel the excitement of being somewhere spectacular. With that vision in mind, we created Liu Men Hotel for travelers to unwind and relax, yet still be thrilled to embark on new adventures.
A labour of love and a testament to the community, the restoration project of Liu Men Hotel was undertaken with passion and care. What was once a historical gem has been reimagined into a luxury boutique hotel, where the charm of its past meets the modernity of today.
Nestled in the heart of Melaka, our hotel invites you to immerse yourself in the local culture and heritage. As you explore our surroundings, you will discover beautiful traditional architecture, which is a reflection of the diverse and vibrant community that thrives here.
On behalf of our family and team, we welcome you to Liu Men Hotel, and we wish you a memorable and enriching journey in Melaka.
Regards,
Tan Sri Pang Tee Chew & Datuk Seri Pang Tee Nam. Liu Men Hotel
